Glenn Duker has cultivated expertise in many different aspects of law since he entered the field in 1995. He founded PCL Lawyers.
Eviction Notice Requirements: Part 1
As a landlord, there are laws that must be followed when evicting tenants. Landlords must give a valid Notice to Vacate and apply to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal for a Possession Order. Without a Possession Order and Warrant of Possession, a landlord cannot legally evict their tenants. Once the landlord sends the tenant a Notice to Vacate and the copy of their application to the Tribunals, there will be a notice sent giving the time, date, and place of the hearing.

Powers Your Power Of Attorney Has
When assigning a power of attorney, the principal is giving another person the authority to make personal and financial decisions for them. Territories in Australia have different proceedings for how to become a power of attorney and the responsibilities once a person is appointed a power of attorney. Make sure you are researching the correct territory when looking for information. There are two types of power of attorney.
A general power of attorney is appointed to make financial decisions f...
Eviction Notice Requirements: Part 2
Following the previous article, Eviction Notice Requirements: Part 1, we move into the proceedings after all the documents are sent to the correct parties.
Hearings
Now that the eviction process is set in motion, it is time for the Tribunal hearings to take place if the tenant had filed a Notice to Vacate. This is the tenants chance to dispute the landlord’s reasonings for wanting to evict them. This also provides the opportunity to explain certain circumstances and if the Tribunal is convinc...
Keeping Information Within Your Company
No matter what type of business you are involved in, there is information that must be protected. You wouldn’t want competitors obtaining your client list or schematics of a new product. The business could not gain a competitive edge if all of its information was released. Information can be protected by legal remedies that prevent from misappropriation and unauthorized disclosure of the company’s information. If your business secures a trade secret protection it can benefit the company in th...
Reasons Why You Should Go On a Mission Trip
Are you having trouble planning this year’s vacation? Instead of using your vacation days to plan a trip to the beach, you can use them to travel to a new country and help people in need on a mission trip. A mission trip takes a group on a journey to help less fortunate areas and provide them with materials, labor, and faith. The activities on mission trips can vary from building an orphanage to feeding the impoverished to just spending time with a family. This is what you can expect to exper...
Where Should Your Next Mission Trip Be To?
A mission trip gives Christians a chance to make a difference in the communities around them and beyond. Going to countries that are in need, to help and share God’s love is the main goal of a mission trip. There are many places around the world that need the help of mission work, whether it be in Latin America or in your own backyard.
Central America
Central America has many countries that could use the help of missionaries. The wet season here causes floods and hurricanes that destroy many ...
What Can You Do on a Mission Trip
Going on a mission trip can be an experience you will never forget. You are going to less fortunate areas to provide help and the love of God. Along with the opportunities to spread the word of God, mission trips can include humanitarian projects also.
Construction:
Countries hit by natural disasters or lack financial aid could have construction projects that consist of renovations, rebuilding, or starting from the ground up. The mission trip typically helps to build new schools, churches, or...
The Meaning For Communion
What is Communion:
Communion is defined in the dictionary as the “sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.” It is also defined as “the service of Christian worship at which bread and wine are consecrated and shared.” The Church practices what is called communion. Jesus had his last communion with his disciples before he was crucified is known as the Last Supper. Communion uses bread to symbolize Jesus’ body and wi...
Introduction to Themes of the Bible
Prior to receiving the Holy Spirit, I questioned many of the scriptural references that I will be referring to in later pieces, but I was sincere in that I wanted to be right with the Lord. I wanted to know I was saved. It is not up to another man or woman to tell us whether we are saved. God has always defined the pattern for his people.
In the Old Testament, the Lord always gave a glimpse to people but then required from those people to be humble enough to test him out by following his inst...
Doing What God Says
When looking at a particular Bible theme, it is important that we read all the scriptures in relation to that theme, not just the scriptures that might suit. The first theme to dive into is “Doing What God Says.” It is not enough to only go to Church and pray. You must obey God and act as He would want you to. Under each scripture are the thoughts behind their meanings and how we should follow and live out each passage.
The first scripture and perhaps the most famous scripture is:
John 3:16:

Speaking in Tongues: Part 1
The next Bible theme discussed is a two-part discussion on where in the Scripture speaking in tongue appears and what speaking in tongues means.
Speaking in tongues was prophesied in the Old Testament:
Isaiah 28: 11-12 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest, and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. We need to careful that we are people who hear!
James makes it clear ...
Speaking in Tongues: Part 2
On the day of Pentecost they all spoke in tongues (when it says tongues like as of fire, this means that the tongues spread like fire amongst the people):
Acts 2:2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all fi...
The Most Common Things That Can Distract You From God
The best way to solve a problem is to admit there is one. There are many distractions in our lives such as our jobs, relationships, and even ourselves. A lot of these are not problems themselves and only become a problem when they start distracting us from God. These days we have so many things fighting for our time and attention and sometimes we allow them to take it. It’s then when we lose our focus on God. Here’s a list of some common things that can distract us from our journey with God.

Glenn Duker’s Mission Trip to Malawi
These wonderful people are so rich in the joy of the Holy Ghost. The children received the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, in about a minute or less and were baptised, as were so many adults. We can learn so much from these fellow saints. The Lord is right there, waiting to bless. We would be wise to put our “questioning” mind to one side and follow their example: just believe our wonderful God without hesitation … and the miracles will follow. Jesus Christ is truly the...
Glenn Duker’s Reflection on Visiting Malawi
I have pondered over the last few days how visiting the Church in Malawi impacted me. And then it dawned on “me” that this is the whole problem with our western world. We think that it is all about “us”. We don’t necessarily see it but our society is self-absorbed – and in our great comfort (which we are born into). As a society we are blinded by the things of this world… not appreciating that it is all vanity, it all passes eventually, is a memory for a while and then forgotten. Cf. The book...
